Our converted Barn offers a modern, neutral space with natural light and scenic views, while the surrounding landscape sets an unforgettable backdrop for open-air vows. However you imagine saying “I do”, the setting feels intimate, relaxed, and completely yours.
Wedding Receptions & Celebrations
After your ceremony, the Barn opens up into a warm, beautifully flexible space for your wedding reception and celebrations. With its natural light, high ceilings, and neutral décor, it’s a modern blank canvas that works effortlessly with any style – from simple and understated to fully curated.
You’re free to choose your own caterers, stock the bar with your favourite drinks, and shape the atmosphere exactly as you imagine. As the day flows into the evening, the space transforms seamlessly for up to 100 guests, keeping the celebration easy, effortless, and entirely your own.
We also offer an in-house bar service and a recommended supplier list if required.

Are you licensed for wedding ceremonies?
Yes — we’re licensed for ceremonies in the Wedding Barn, the Farmhouse for intimate celebrations, and outdoors when the weather allows.
Where is your venue located?
Blackton Grange is tucked away in the peaceful North Pennines, around 30 minutes from Barnard Castle and easily reached by car.
Our Full Directions are here, including the best routes to avoid narrow country lanes.
There’s on-site parking for your guests, and taxis can be booked in advance.
How many guests can we invite?
We can host up to 75 guests for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, and up to 100 guests for evening celebrations.
Is accommodation included?
For 2- and 3-night hires, the luxury Farmhouse is included and sleeps up to 18 guests across eight bedrooms.
Additional Accommodation is also available in the local area.
What about Food & Drink?
All catering at Blackton Grange is provided by external caterers. We have a list of fantastic suppliers we can recommend, but you’re also welcome to choose your own. We just ask that caterers are fully self-sufficient (for example, food trucks or providers who can bring their own equipment and power supply).
For Drinks, we have fully licensed resident bar ran by Husband and Wife duo Ed and Hannah. Offering a selection of amazing drinks and quirky creations to suit you. There are a great selection of affordable drink packages depending on your approach and budget.
You still have the option to supply your own alcohol for welcome, toast and table drinks with the option for the bar.
Do you provide a Wedding Coordinator?
Yes — a dedicated Wedding Co-ordinator is included to support your planning and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
Do you host elopements and micro-wedings?
Yes! Our Farmhouse Elopement Package includes two nights’ accommodation, a licensed ceremony space, and room for up to 20 guests.
Are you Dog Friendly?
Absolutely — dogs are always welcome at Blackton Grange. We know they’re part of the family, and our location on the Pennine Way makes it a brilliant place for long walks and countryside adventures. We even provide an outdoor roll-top dog bath with hot water for a post-walk rinse, plus dog bowls and towels to make their stay more comfortable.
We allow up to three dogs per booking for an additional £15 per dog. Dogs are also welcome at weddings, and we can share our recommended “Doggy Chaperone” services to help look after them during the ceremony and reception.
To keep the house clean and everyone comfortable, we ask that dogs stay downstairs, aren’t left unattended inside, and avoid furniture unless using the blankets provided. Please pick up after them and keep them on leads when livestock is nearby.
